Our Jon Zugrav, kick started Sunday’s Team Tieu MTC Thai boxing show in style, as he won his second outing as a professional fighter in five weeks by 3rd round KO in front of his opponent’s home crowd.

Fighting in the opening bout against Team Tieu fighter Headley Waugh at 67kg, Jon did everything right, pressurising his opponent from the off, easily taking the first round and giving his opponent an 8 count in round two through heavy knees. In the third round, Jon showed no hesitation in finishing off his opponent with more knees to the midriff ensuring his first career knockout. The corner team consisting of Coach Paul, Amy and Serghy can take great satisfaction in the way Jon prepared for the fight and followed instructions. Fighting on the main card was ‘Smiling Assassin’ Przemek Kierpacz taking on highly fancied Michael Pham. In what was shaping up to be a full on encounter, both fighters fell out of the ring in round two. Whils... Continue Reading

Sunday was really good for us, as we really managed to live up to the New Blood theme with 24 Junior fights and a whole load of adult fights, where the fighters were entering the ring for the first time. Some of the talent on show was really exciting, especially the young ladies from BKK and Southend Muay Thai, who belied their 13 years in terms of skill and aggression. We want to thank the coaches and trainers who sacrificed their Sunday to nurture talent at the grass roots level, the spectators who supported their comrades in training/ family and friends and of course the fighters themselves, who hopefully will have that itch to take their training to the next level. Here is the roll call of gyms that made it to our event and supplied fighters in no specific order: KO Bethnal Green, MTMA, MTMA Illford, Red Dragonz, BKK, Southend Muay Thai, Benfleet Muay Thai, KO Hooks, KO Next Generation, KO Lynch, Last but not least, thanks to our own KO Bloodline fighters and the volu...
